DIANE SKOOG, EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
NAWLEE’s Executive Director, Diane Skoog, recently retired from the Carver, Massachusetts Police Department after 25 years of service. Diane had been the chief of police from July 1990 until July of 2002. Her law enforcement career began in September 1977 when she was appointed Special Police Officer. Since that time she has worked numerous assignments including Safety Officer, Juvenile Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Court Officer, and Dispatcher Trainer/Liaison. Chief Skoog's "firsts" include being Carver Police Department's first and only female Rape and Sexual Abuse Investigator in 1980.
Chief Skoog earned her Masters Degree in Criminal Justice from Western New England College, Springfield, Massachusetts in 1998. She holds a Bachelors Degree in Law Enforcement from Western New England College and an Associates Degree in Law Enforcement from Massasoit Community College where she graduated with honors.
Chief Skoog had been NAWLEE’s secretary and a member of the Board of Directors since 1998. She was hired as NAWLEE’s first Executive Director shortly after the position was approved by the membership at the annual business meeting in August 2002. Chief Skoog has acted as a consultant for several law enforcement agencies in promotional assessment centers and has been a member of the IACP Firearms Committee from 2000 until 2008. |
