President’s Message

It is my honor and privilege to represent the National Association of Women Law Enforcement Executives as your President in the 2012-2013 year.

I attended my first NAWLEE Conference in 2005 in Houston, Texas after being promoted to the rank of sergeant in my organization.  It was there that I understood what the “Magic of NAWLEE” meant. I was exposed to high-ranking females in the law enforcement profession who would later become mentors and lifelong friends. I attribute much success in my career to the guidance provided by the generous and strong women leaders who offered me a glimpse of achievement and possibility.

Isaac Newton said, “If I have seen further it is by standing on the shoulders of giants.” I feel such gratitude for the NAWLEE members who helped shape my career and the only way I felt I could repay them was to pay it forward by becoming more involved in the organization.

The NAWLEE mission is to serve and further the interests of women executives and those who aspire to be executives in law enforcement. We carry out this vision by offering training, mentoring and networking opportunities and our influence expands as we get more women involved.

I am humbled to stand beside the amazing women who comprise the NAWLEE Board of Directors. Together we are committed to carrying out the mission with passion and dedication.

In the words of Winston Churchill, I believe this will be our finest hour.

Onward and upward,
